Design
As Digital Editor, I've done a lot of packaging and design for stories on the website. I love getting to discover new code and new kinds of multimedia, as well as working with staffers to help them realize their creative visions. Getting a multimedia-heavy package on the website is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

For my extensive web design/packaging work, I received the first prize for Best Online Portfolio at the regional level. “I didn’t expect to win for best online portfolio – I was a little shocked,” Shaikun said. “I know I’m really passionate about multimedia and web design, though, and I loved the process of accumulating this design experience.” Photo by Aza Khan
Mini-iliad
The cover Anna Shaikun’s mini-literary magazine “The Show Must Go On” is pictured. After I completed my 2023-24 Creative Writing Project, I packaged it as a small version of our literary-art magazine, the iliad. “I was very passionate about this CWP. I put a lot of heart in here, and I’m so proud of what I accomplished,” Shaikun said. “I love seeing my work in the iliad, but I enjoyed engaging with the entire process, from writing the pieces to creating the layouts.” Layout by Anna Shaikun

Left: GO GLADS: The championship package was the first website-exclusive package that I created as Digital Editor, and it's still one of my favorites. I love how it encompasses all aspects of the football game. While I'm not particularly well-versed in sports journalism, I thoroughly enjoyed editing and packaging this piece. Right: AENEID: During the ODYSSEY Summer Workshop, I worked with a team of future Production and Journalism I students to make a mini-magazine. While the magazine isn't necessarily the best work I've done, it wasn't bad for only having a day to work on it. In addition, I got to play with different text colors and overlays on a page, which I don't necessarily see as much from a web design perspective. Photos by Anna Shaikun and Angel Tejada
